In keeping with my recovery plan to get my riding miles up and test my riding fitness, I took the chance on Saturday to make the 101 miles each-way journey up to Cheshire to visit some old friends, play a game of crown green bowls and to have some nice food.
Breakfast was taken at a Cheese Factory (Cheshire Cheese is the second most famous English cheese), in it's "cafe", with a hot drink and.....yes, you guessed it..... some Cheese !!!! :sarcastic:, lunch was missed due to the intensity of the bowls competition (not ! :sarcastic: ) and dinner was sampled at a lovely, but expensive Italian restaurant
The route taken was 2/3 Motorway/Interstate and 1/3 nice country roads, but it gave me a chance to get used to just sitting on the bike, covering miles and not moving around much. On the positive side, I ended the day with no aches or pains from riding and my FJ managed 51mpg overall, at an average road speed of 63mph.
Overall, I'm still amazed at how well my recovery is going. No worries now for the June tour to Poland (for a Speedway Grand Prix Final race) and the Black Forest.
