Title: New FJ1100 Colorado Springs
Post by: VF1000RS on June 08, 2010, 11:48:58 PM
Hi,

I picked up a 84 FJ1100 about a month ago and have been busy bringing it back to life after 10 years or so in storage.

I have swapped out the forks/wheels/front rotors/calipers from a 89 FJ1200, about to get new Sport Demons mounted. Bought new to me sidepanels with all tabs intact, a very nice gas tank, replaced the steering stem bearings, oil and filter change, a few other things.

I found this forum after searching for a reason for the oil level sensor to illuminate on hard accelleration in the upper rev range and found a thread.

I`ve got a few other 80`s bikes, nothing newer than 1986, most of them modified to some degree, mostly suspension/wheels/etc.

Very happy to have the FJ in the stable.

Thanks for the welcome. Looks like there are a few from Colorado here.

Pic of the poor thing when I got it, minus the flamed Corbin seat....and yes, it did pee on the floor...

And here she is about to have her oil pan dropped for inspection, the flames will have to go:

Welcome Thomas, that's quite a stable you have...Let me guess, you love '80's muscle bikes?
Show us some picts when you have your '84 finished. Picts of my '84 are on pages 5 & 6 of the FJ bike gallery.
Maybe it's just me, but I dunno, there's something special about those '84s...

Cheers!   Pat

Thanks pat,

I really like your bike. I was wanting to do the thunderace swingarm and wheel swap. I had one new in 1997 but the swingarms and wheels are hard to come by. I may still do it one day.
