9 days ago, I had my first ride out on my FJ since my cancer removal surgery back in October last year - and it was bloody marvellous. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and despite the bike being parked up for 6 months, it started up instantly and ran perfectly from the off.
I did need to bleed my clutch before setting off, but that is literally a 1 minute job, once every 6 months. Other than that, I checked and adjusted my tyre pressures, filled her up with fuel and went off for an 85 mile round trip, with a stop off for breakfast.
I was joined for the ride by 2 of my riding buddies who have just converted to FJ's (in advance of our tour to Poland and the Black Forest in June) and unfortunately, photo-wise, while my FJ was partly hidden behind the bikes of some of our other riding pals, so you can't really see it in the pics (other than a glimpse), at least i got a couple of photo's of Pete and Chris on their FJ's.
The one down-side of the ride was that I found what the effect of the 9 days of nightly polishing of my seat (as well as the rest of the bike) by the guys at the NEC Motorcycle Live Bike Show when my bike was on display in November, does to the slipperyness- factor of the seat cover   I was sliding all over the bike under braking, acceleration and cornering :sarcastic: :sarcastic:
Awesome! Looked like a good return the the saddle :good:
Right on Dean!
Great news! Good to hear!
All the best to you, into the future.
