Hi folks! I've been fixing up old bikes since I was a teen and just scored a nice 1992 FJ1200 project bike that's been high on my bucket list!

Congratulations!

Many of us here have also been tinkering with bikes since well into the last century, welcome to the machine.

This group has been the #1 place I've found useful for working on the FJ's, it is a fantastic wealth of information, and I thank everyone here for what you've done.

I hope you find the FJ as enjoyable to work on as I have. The engineering is fantastic, I mean, as soon as I pulled the tank and found how rewarding the valve adjustment was, I was sold.

Again, welcome.

To the machine

Hello, I've been getting a bit bored in retirement so I purchased 2 FJ1200's from a friend. I've been using the 86 as a parts bike for the 90. The plastic on the 90 was all smashed up so it's moving over to newer bike. I haven't been able to ride it yet but getting closer. Currently the rear brake cylinder does not produce enough pressure to bleed. I'm headed to the brakes section on this site, happy Friday and cheers!

Welcome in Pirsig and Gratis.

Hope to see more photos as you both progress........ we love photos !!!

Nice to see you're resurrecting old FJ's. I've just helped 2 good friends to become FJ owners and modifiers - they both have collections including more modern bikes (such as Yamaha R1's, Triumph Daytona 675, Honda Fireblade, Suzuki TL1000S, Triumph Legend, BMW HP2 etc) as well as some older bikes (Suzuki RG 250, Honda VF1000R, Yamaha V Max, Honda NS400R, Honda CX500, Kawasaki H1 500, Yamaha RD 300, BSA A65 and many more), but since they've bought their FJ1200's, these are the bikes they now ride the most.

Both can't believe how efficient these bikes are at covering miles with minimal effort and maximum comfort and enjoyment  :good2:
