Hi All,
I have been a biker since I was 12 years old. I am now 74 and still love every minute of it.
I have had many many bikes over the years and always done my own maintenance, in the stable right now I have a Yamaha FJ1200 1991 (just bought it hasn't been running for 9 years) plus I have a !966 Triton ( built it myself) + a few classic Honda's.
I now live in Australia for the last 11 years before that the UK.
Looking forward to reading up all the info on here about my newly acquired FJ1200 and no doubt so help with problems that may arise in the future.
Cheers Jim
G'day And Welcome Jim,
Good to see you finally got around to getting an FJ, should be a good project to follow, make sure you post it up while in progress .
I'm assuming you live in Qld just to be a bit warmer than the UK.
Cheers from Sydney.
Hi Sparky84,
Had a few Yamaha's in my time but this is the first FJ, spent the day in the garage working on it today and its coming together well, when I bought the bike it came with loads of spares so if you get stuck for anything let me know and I will see if I can help.
As for living in QLD nope I live in Kincumber on the Central coast NSW this is plenty warm enough for me.
Cheers Jim
Welcome Jim!
We have a strong Aussie contingent of FJ owners here on the forum.
With your experience and expertise you will fit right in. Many of us here also have multiple bikes so we can appreciate a motorcycle we can work on and do our own service. Feel free to contribute your acquired knowledge.
Let us know how we can help. Take a stroll through our Files sections, we have miles and miles of files, pretty files of our forefathers fruit....
Cheers. Pat

Kincumber very nice, wife's parents came from that way, her dad was born in Kincumber some 100+ yrs ago when you rode a horse to school, it's grown a lot since then.
You have a few other FJ enthusiast's around you there too.
Thanks for the offer of spares, some parts are hard to get, hope you got some spare plastic parts as they are hard to get.
Might have to grab a coffee at Jerry's or Mt White once you've got it sorted
Cheers
It would be great to meet up sometime, I am up at Jerry's regularly with the classic bike club.
I'm sure buy then I will have loads of questions, I will have to start looking out for the other local FJ owners.
Cheers Jim
