Title: New to the forum, not new to bikes
Post by: Crawler98tj on December 07, 2024, 12:52:42 PM
Hey! Just wanted to post my first one over here. I have an 89 fj1200 that I high sided at close to 100mph on public roads (ran out of talent/mistakes were made)three years ago. I got sick of it sitting around so it was time to either rebuild or junk it out. I'm in the process of getting the parts to take it for a test ride to see if the frame and wheels feel ok. If it feels ok I'll tear it down and to a more thorough inspection. What I was wondering is how hard are the body panels to find for this thing? Maybe you all know a good place to start? I have looked on eBay but don't see any of the parts I want. Needless to say I need everything but the side covers under the seat.

Thanks for the info!!

89 parts sill come up for sale. Might still be some after market stuff over the pond. Pricy and you have to finish them.  But they can be found.

I'm not opposed to aftermarket body panels. I just can't find anything of the sort. Come to find out I have a rare body color... go figure haha. Mine is mostly white with silver and a little red here and there. I would actually like to find a complete fiberglass body that can be tore up and replaced if I wreck

Here is a company in France that does fairing pieces in fiberglass. I have no personal experience in ordering or the quality of the product.
