Had a great day out Sunday on my old FJ 1200 with a bunch of friends from around the Midlands.
We made 9am start and rode across to Hunstanton, on the east coast, for fish and chips beside the beach at lunchtime. Took a nice scenic route there, taking in some of the Rutland TT Route (Mkt Harborough, Uppingham, Caldecott, Welland Viaduct, Ketton and Stamford) then heading out via Spalding and Holbeach. Heading home, we took the A47 all the way back from Kings Lynn, to a stop off at the 2 Flags cafe for a cuppa and to don our waterproofs for the final hour home via the twisties across country. A nice 220+ mile ride, with lots and lots of corners :good2:
Along with my FJ 1200, there were 3 Triumph 1200 twins, a Sprint 1050 GT triple, a BMW 1250 GS, a Yamaha MT07, a Suzuki DL 650 and a 1982 Honda CX 500 which surprised most of the others with its back road capabilities.
Great ride, great friends.
