Title: 87 fuel tank (red over white)

I need a decent 87 tank. Mine rusted. Any advice about reconstruction beyond just lining?

Have you tried filling it with vinegar shaking it around and leaving it for a few hours or overnight? Do that a few times it should clean a lot of the rust out. Then you can look into a tank sealer.
