Title: Nowra Shed day at Troyskies 2024
Post by: Troyskie on July 22, 2024, 05:34:39 PM
G'day fellas,

It's that time of year again, bloody cold. Also, time for a shed day.

I'm thinking Friday Sept 20th - Sun 22nd, but happy to shift a week either way.

Let me know if I have to change dates and who might be attending.

Winner winner chicken dinner!

Another great shed day.
Thanks to everyone for coming along and making the weekend a sterling get together.

We even worked on some of the bikes! Not just tall stories, beer, wine, scotch & brandy.

I think we triggered a few neighbours by bench running Gav's motor, headers only  . I did hear a neighbours bunky fire up and get some work, so we were not alone.

Gav's motor and other bits are up for sale. I'll put a post about that separately.

The ride to Nerriga pub for lunch was meh, but still fun. I'll try and remember to let people know where we're going before the ride next time :) . Food was great. Worth a stop if you're passing by.

Dave needed his 85s clutch seeing-to Friday arvo, and a general carby tune/fiddle/tweek magic in the evening, but, the alternator demon was lurking. The first shed day at mine that Dave attended we had to extract a broken bolt from this alternator as it was pissing oi. On arrival at Nerriga, he had wet sprocket cover and dripping a bit of oil on the ground. Not catastrophic. Just something to look into back at the shed.
Well, not good. Dave popped the alternator out to get a look down and disaster!
The top bolt mount on the casing had cracked off, right through where the o-ring seats.

This was why I posted asking if a later model motor could go in an early bird as we had Gav's motor ready to go.

Total Fire Ban axed the bonfire unfortunately, but the mini fire pit thingy worked really well. Did anyone snap a pic of it in action?

Stores got raided and the wall of shame was added to (Thanks Steve), darn those tar snakes  .

Dave, I was wrong about the CDI, never listen to me. I know I sound convincing, but I have no idea what I'm talking about :)
