the reason i no longer use one of those u-locks on my front wheel is the same reason i'd probably not get one of these---i'm just too forgetful, and when i forget, really embarrassing things happen. ( :

Re: the u-lock...get one of those coiled, stretchy-type keychains, in a bright color. Attach one end permanently to the lock, then when you apply the lock, loop the other end over the throttle. It's hard to miss when you're ready to depart. I did this after hearing horror stories af attempting to ride off without removing the disk lock, and so far I've never had a problem. Granted, I don't use the lock much.

That video reminded me of a small brick wall I advertantly came in contact with a Honda 400-4 back in 76! Wearing shorts and a T shirt (at least a helmet thought). The bike stopted VERY quickly and as I went over the bars my shin hit and tore open a 10 inch gash! Can't remember how many stitches but it was the only amulance ride I've had, so far. I do remember going to the doc a couple times a week and having him FLUSH the frickin thing for almost two months! "Controlled" infections just aren't much fun. Who woulda thought? Oh and another thing I do remember is it was $648 to get it fixed, wasn't even my bike. Yes I was the asshole buddy who wrecked his friends bike but paid every cent to fix it as good as new. We are actually still friends! :unknown: Kevin.

Gosh, you must be
hung....
</pervert>
guess I should have clarified that the gash was on the front of my shin!! Hit it on something throttle side and just kind of plealed or pushed all the skin down toward my ankle. Kind of looked like when you scrape wall paper off of a wall when it doesn't peal off. Revelation that day? Try not to go faster then the space you have to slow down. Actually I had the choice between broad siding a car that hung a u turn in front of me or the little 3 ft brick wall. Still think I made the right choice. Hind sight is always 20-20 and a lot less plaster and stitches! Kevin. :unknown:
