This show went ahead a couple of weeks ago and was the venue for a brilliant 150 mile Sunday round trip on the FJ.
I went with a pal Mike, who was riding his 2019 Triumph 1200 Speed Twin.
The morning dawned with a beautiful sunrise, but a temperature of only 34F when we set out. Sat behind the fairing of my 3CV and wearing my heated gilet/vest, I was warm and toasty and thoroughly enjoyed the 90 minute ride there. Mike, on the other hand, riding his naked bike, without the benefit of full winter gear (he naively thought the temperature would rise more quickly in the morning than it did :sarcastic:) arrived at the show shivering and teeth-chatteringly cold !!!
Luckily we were early enough to get in before it got really busy and headed straight to the VJMC members cafe for a free coffee to warm Mike up :sarcastic:. As usual it was a brilliant show with a huge selection of gorgeous bikes from our youth and some great trade stand bargains - I deliberately didn't take my car and bike trailer, as my garage is already completely full up. It was also a great time to catch up with some VJMC friends throughout the day and to shake hands with the great Allen Millyard.
Here's a few photo's the day and some of my favourite bikes from the displays and "For Sale" stands.
A few more - including a very well executed amalgamation of an early 1990's Triumph 900 Sprint and a Honda CBX :good2:
Yep, don't think I can fit any more bikes in here at the moment :sarcastic:
(Need to get rid of the non-bike stuff first!)
Awesome pics Dean! Is that radial monstrosity VW based? Looks like a cut down beetle head.
Great report Dean! :good2: Thanks for sharing must have been fun to talk to Allen milliyard !
