Found a NOS WP shock minus spring and perch that should fit, originally for a pre EXUP FZR so same length as late model FJ's
Only problem is finding information in it
Anyone know of a company that supplied them?

They made (still make I assume) quality products. I would definitely contact them and ask the price of a rebuild - just for peace of mind. Also would be good to get them to increase the damping rates a bit - FJ's run a heavier spring rate than EXUP's so will need more damping.
I'm actually using a 94 EXUP shock on my '89 - along with the EXUP link and custom dog bones. I think I used an FJ1100 spring. Get the dimensions on the spring - I've found used springs on eBay for good prices. Eibach sells a variety of springs for coil over applications that fit motorcycle shocks - sized by inside diameter, length, and spring rate.

Thanks
The shocks from the Genisis and unfortunately I tried using the linkage but without some serious mods it won't fit.
I've a link somewhere for a spring manufacturers that made me a spring for a BMW shock, so cheap I rang him to see how he could do it at that price, he explained that most companies mark up was massive, stating that spring manufacturer wasn't as difficult as you'd think.
Just need to find the length and his company again.
I'd like to try running it with a spring somewhere between the FJ and FZR, I've lost a fair bit of weight off the bike , exhaust, half the subframe, all the rear plastics apart from the top half of the tail piece, wheels, etc so won't be far off the wet weight of the Genisis ( I hope)
Let's hope WP still have some dimensions of their older shocks.
Had a nice surprise when my shock arrived, seems the seller didn't think to show the spring seat, he even suggested there wasn't one, good for me, probably would have been snapped up by the 20 or so watchers.
I'm going to order a 58mm id 150mm length and 180N/mm spring, same as stock 91> I know the later shock was a bit weedy for the mass of the FJ but it should be OK with all the weight loss, and if it does move around a bit itll make me feel like I'm trying lol

Get a Torrington bearing for your preload collar. It will make turning the threaded collar easier. Cheers

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into one, although tbh I generally don't mess around with my suspension, set it to factory settings and just get on with riding.
I ride slow in fast out and very few riders understand why they can't keep up, I stick to about 90 and keep it there (most police won't bother you at that speed over here providing you're not doing anything stupid) I pull away from them on every corner and they are always chasing me down the next straight only to be left again on the next bend lol.
If they'd only slow down they'd go faster
