I took the old girl in for her annual Govt Safety Check (MOT test). She passed, but the tester did notice a "light mist of oil" on the right side fork stanchion.
He noticed the scrutineering sticker still on my fairing and commented that it's probably the first sign of the deal giving up after it's track "abuse" (:sarcastic: :sarcastic:) at the weekend.
So, I'll probably replace the seals on both sides over the next couple of weeks - they've been in about 5 years anyway.
With my Pass certificate in hand, I took her out for a spin around the local countryside and a cuppa at the Red Lion in Crick, as the weather is good today, but it's predicted to rain a lot over the next couple of weeks.
Nice pics but it kinda sux that you still have to do state inspections. Here in PA, once you have antique tags you no longer have to do yearly inspections. Of course you aren't supposed to do more than 2000 miles a year and you are supposed to use only for club and show events......With 13 bikes it's hard to exceed the mileage limit AND I'm always going to an event, so I'm good, right? :biggrin:

Over here you Still have to get checked once a year once on historic plates but that can be done by a club registrar (free of charge), 60 days riding a year and any club runs aren't counted. Also very considerable savings on registration costs too .
Finished off a good day yesterday by heading down to Bike Night at the Long Itch Diner (a local "greasy spoon" cafe).
A nice array of bikes (around 200 showed up over the evening) and some great friends turned up.
It's not often I get to see 3 V-Max's in the one place :sarcastic:
Dean you have the best pictures. I often share them with one of my coworker buddies who left England a quarter century ago. He does miss the motorcycle culture.

One of the best things about living here is the number of small (or maybe not so small) local bike events that go on across the country (all year round).
I'm not in the best part of the country for biking roads, but I make do with what we have. What I have found here in the Midlands, are some great riding buddies. There are 27 of us in a local Messenger group, who all live within a 2 mile radius of my home.
We also have a buoyant Vintage Japanese Motorcycle scene here, with plenty of opportunities for ride outs and meetings. Over the last 2 weeks I've been at a Vintage Bike Show and Rally, 3 VJMC group meetings, 2 Bike Nights, a 2-day race meeting with track sessions and 1 general meet up with riding buddies........ and the rest of August is already filled with meets, rides and events.
Life is good right at this moment in time :good2:
Love that RD350LC! Wish I still had the project one I picked up years ago. Wanted to paint it up like the 650 Seca I had at the time (and also regret selling!)
