What came first, captive nuts or the FJ1200
What an awkward so and so to work on!
Changed the rear shock and lubricated the pivot bearings, couldn't work out how to remove the bolt at the front, until I found a guide online, it suggested removing the footrest plates, so the front bolt can be removed, which includes removing the swingarm...... Who in hell dreamed that one up, flap wheel on my grinder sorted what one out.
Did a couple of hours work in eight hours.
The FJ is NOT awkward to work on. You just have to visualize how it was put together at the factory, and then reverse the process. If you have to remove the footrest plates to access a bolt... well, that's just the way it is. Put on your big-boy panties and deal with it.
