Title: Newbe
Post by: joebloggs on July 12, 2023, 01:02:12 AM
Hi All
Just bought a 98 3CV, 50ish K on the gauges.
Previous owner has fitted XJR cans, wheels and brake calipers and as many different types of bolts as he/she could find (?)

I've always been a Kawasaki man before, and still have a ZRX and an RX but my body is telling me I need something a little more upright and the FJ ticks that box.

I have always loved the look of the FJ, 1100 and 1TX, so it was an easy decision, only surprise I got was how BLOODY loud the motor is, sounds like a bag of spanners.

Will post some pictures sometime

Nice to meet you all

Joe

Welcome Joe  I'm guessing the year of your bike in your post is a typo and the bike is an 88 3CV.

Compared to a liquid cooled motor, the FJ will be a bit noisy at a standstill, but once you get underway FJ's are pretty darn quiet in terms of engine noise.

Are you sure the valves clearances are OK and the cam chain tensioner is working properly ?
