Title: New guy needs new tires and ABS advice
Post by: cedmund00 on May 30, 2010, 11:49:27 PM
Hey all,

Recently picked up a 93 1200 ABS and I need new rubber.  I am not interested in a wheel conversion at this point so just some suggestions for front and back would be great.  Also, My ABS isn't working. I can feel the ABS unit pulsing but the back tire easily locks up. The front I haven't broken loose yet. Can I bleed the ABS unit?

Thanks

Round and black would be my suggestion on tires, and definitely avoid slicks.  Depending on what kind of riding you intend on doing, that may very possibly influence your tire choice.  Look up what fits and buy what you fancy.

Yes, you can bleed anything involved with those fluids.

Craig,

The 16" rear limits choice. I'm currently running Avons - Storm front & Azaro rear. These are Z rated radials and seem fine re grip, feel, wear.

Hey Craig, we have found that a Mity Vac really helps the bleeding chores. A invaluable tool:
