How do you do it?
The fastest FJ I'm aware of is Chris Wyatt (fj1289) who did 198mph in the standing mile.
A stock FJ will do ~145.
With gearing, header, pods and tuning, a healthy FJ will go ~150-155.
Engine work, Cams and carbs ~160+.
What's your budget? What's your goal? 1/4, 1/2, 1 mile....or Bonneville?
Calling Chris.....
Can't claim the fastest ...yet. That is still the turbo nitrous FJ1100 from the Sport Rider UFO '93 article at 214.285 mph.
Details are in the article linked in this post:

198 mph was done with a 1350 engine built by Randy at RPM with some mild cams and 150HP shot of nitrous. More speed was capable with some more tuning, but a part failure caused a missed shift which lead to a "little" uh-oh with the nitrous and a destroyed top end. Expensive mistake that has lead to a whole series of changes to the race bike attempting to fix that issue and then a few that have shown up since then. Hoping to get back on track (literally and figuratively!) on July 26th at Bandimere for test-n-tune. "Should" have the data logging issue fixed and can finally start getting things tuned and running hard again!
