I'm getting closer to purchasing an FJ and the one I'm going to get has a 4-1 Yoshi full pipe. It doesn't have a center stand but it looks like one might clear the pipe. I definitely want to get a center stand back on if I can but it got me wondering why it was removed originally. One thought is that it might look funny due to the way it would normally wrap around the left side of the factory exhaust but now there would be nothing there. So, I went looking for pictures and I've seen some FJ's that obviously have a 4-1 exhaust and are on a center stand. However, what I can't find is any picture of the left side of an FJ with a 4-1 and the center stand up. Anyone have a picture of what it would look like with the stand up on the left side and no exhaust?
Often with a 4-1 mounted on an FJ is there is no provision for a centerstand stop. 1 of 2 things may happen from that. 1, the centerstand rests against part of the 4-1 exhaust and over time wear a hole in the exhaust. Or 2, the centerstand has nothing extended to rest on and then rests against suspension linkage. Not a good thing.
My solution over the years with multiple FJ's and multiple types of exhaust. I have a centerstand, but it is not permanently installed. Instead, it is in the garage and when I do maintenance on the FJ. The centerstand gets bolted on and the removed when the bike is ready to ride.

Mmmm. I have a custom 4-1 on my '94, and it is a pain with having no spot to put a centrestand stop. As Fred mentioned, its not ideal with the stand rubbing against the dog bones, but I still have not come up with a solution.

Ray, my 4-1 Marving has about the same main stand position as in your picture. I cut a slot in a water hose and zip tied it to the cross brace where it hits the dog bones, unfortunately the stand kept on scrapping on the left especially so I only fit it when required.
Here you go, left side photo of my FJ with a 4 into 1 exhaust and centre stand in the up position :sarcastic:
