Title: Huggy's Speed Shop Old Timers Meet
Post by: Millietant on March 04, 2023, 09:12:52 PM
Great day at the Huggy's Speed Shop Old Timer's meet yesterday, on the FJ with a few pals. Despite the cold (it was in the 30's F), over 200 bikes still turned up.

Nice burgers, hot drinks, live music, charity auction and raffle and loads of brilliant bikes, just many to photograph them all !! I figured some of these may interest a few here.  :good2:

Thanks for sharing pics soon spring will be here to ..  Nice bikes the enduro/cross bike caught my interest since i newer seen that bike  before.First it looked like a modified xt500 with some husquarna stuff and when i google it.it was a yamaha HL500  that was built with  a xt500 engine and some huquarna frame very rare and most likely very expensive too.
About the jeans i think i have a pair like that that i can send you and the long hair you can just let it grow
The rd350 looks very similar to the one i have a xj400 but that one it is not possible to ride on

Yes, those HL 500's are rare and beautiful  :good2:

We didn't get the XJ 400 here, but we got the XJ 550 which was the same, appearance-wise. The XJ 650 Seca had an even closer resemblance to the RD LC's and they're rightly becoming styling classics these days.

Those Yamaha styling cues were used on quite a few other bikes too. Even today I think that styling is brilliant.

My son has hair even longer than mine was back then, but I can stand Long hair these days, or just gets in the way too much  :sarcastic:
