I happened to go into Aldi's supermarket today. In their next week's catalog they have some ski and snowboarding pants for sale. These are waterproof, insulated, and have pockets. They are also pretty cheap at $40-50.
For those who ride through Australia's "winter" these are a great buy.
I bought a pair of corduroy snowboard pants last year from Aldi and they were warm as toast while remaining dry inside.
The only drawback I would note is that they don't have special armour or abrasion patches at knees/hips. Solution is to not fall down or get dragged by a hardly.
Note: I have no connection to Aldi other than as an occasional customer.
Cheers,
Arnie
