Title: Hello from suffolk
Post by: Futter on December 10, 2022, 01:47:46 PM
Fj1200 owner. Not a standard beast but a streetfighter with a mixed pedigree.  Having said that, it's an awesome beast and I love it. Do all my own work and have pretty much every tool you need. Currently trying to identify the genetics of my bike which I'll address in another post. Ride safe.

Looks nicely done!

Can't make out the details - but it looks like an FJ1100 front end (think I see anti dive units) and FJ1100 front rim and brakes.

Probably FJ1200 rear rim - but looks like FJ1100 brake rotor.

Quick question - is the perimeter frame around the steering head still intact?  Can't see it behind the ammo can.  It is part of the structure for the steering stem on the FJ - the steering stem is not gusseted nearly as much to the main frame rails like a traditional frame.

I think it might be - looks like some kind of a plate mounted to it?  I've always thought it would be a good place to mount the headlight (maybe the huge thing from an XJ650 Seca if you want a "classic" look - or a couple small LED pods or something for the "modern" look).
