Hey, does anybody has experience with Continental Conti Motion tires? thanks Werner
Werner.......is that a new offering from Conti?
I am using a Road Attack at the moment on the rear and am very happy with it.
Harvy
Hello Harvy, what I found out so far is that Continental offers 3 Sport Touring tires. The Conti Road Attack, Conti Motion and Conti Force. It looks that the Road Attack is the best tires off those three in their advertisement. The Motion is offered " for the price conscious rider " I think I will try the Road Attack
greetings Werner
I'm also starting the shopping process for tires, Metzlers on right now, looking at these"

Conti's I have run the road attack the FJ trashed them in 2500 miles. They were good to ride on..
Friend had the Motions on a c14 trashed them in 5000 mile.
Best I have found if you are running a 17" rear are the Michelin Road 2
Hope that helps...
Cheers

I have the Azarros on my FJ, on stock 16" wheels. Have about 1,700 miles on them, and they're wearing very well. Extremely confidence inspiring and totally predictable. Night and day difference from the Metzeler front/Dunlop rear bias ply tires on before. Totally woke the bike up, quicker turn in and better straight line stability-no more tramlining like a truffle pig. I've said it before, but I'll say it again; I'm not interested in fiddling with fork and swing arm mods to fit larger wheels on a 26 year old bike, so if/when Avon stops selling these tires is when I sell my FJ.

I order up those Avons today, the sticker shock about gave me a heart attack!
Holy cow, have tires gone up or what!!!!!!!
Almost $400.00 retail, we'll see what the final bill is when they arrive.
I'll mount and balance them myself, save a few bucks.
Which avons?! http://www.swmototires.com/ (http://www.swmototires.com/)
AVON AV45 120/80R16 AZARO ST FRT
Specially designed for high performance and extended tyre life
$108.95
few bucks lower for the 17 incher.
AVON AV46 150/80R16 AZARO ST Rear
Specially designed for high performance and extended tyre life
$139.95
Free shipping.
I've used them before, had the tire (tyre) in 3 business days. I am in Arizona so if it took an extra day or two, it would still be OK for the price of shipping! Nothing to gain, just a happy customer.
$400...ouch! see if they'll price match! :empathy2:

i guess you ordered them from your "friendly" local dealer ?
did you at least get a reach around ?
KOokaloo!
Like I said, retail about gave me a heart attack, what is up with that?
I remember a decade or so ago, I was in an industry and started raising retail prices in an effort to increase profits, when the dummies should of realized the salespeople were pricing customers off cost, and list price did not really matter anyway -
In fact, too high a list price scares some customers away, lost sales that may never be re-couped.
Selling off cost assures a consistant margin, but there are other games that then have to be played by management.
They'll start padding costs, or never reveal true cost. I've seen so many names for cost, standard cost, vendor cost, deviated costs, manufactured cost, cost plus this that or some other thing, it's all a racket.
On the front, I went with the Storm II Ultra not the AZARO ST FRT, per the Avon web site.
Need to order the brake lines too, but I'll wait to see how the wheel bearings look.
About time for a nice long ride.
