Hello!
New to the forum and from chippewa falls Wisconsin.
I have been riding since I was 8. Into old school motorcycles "because I'm old". Looking forward to help and being helpful since 35 year old motorcycles can sometimes be problematic!
1984 FJ600
1986 FJ1200
Nice looking bikes! Welcome to the forum.
Welcome Tim!
Welcome Timothy I had exactly same as your fj600 same color too back in 1985. here in Norway they named it XJ600 it is a great bike if i remember right it has 6 gear .One problem i had with it was that it was hard to start many times so had to run and jump on to start it =) had several bikes after that and now i have the same colors and model as your FJ1200
Thank you all. I've been casually shopping for a 1100 that's not all clapped out with reasonable price and not thousands of miles away. No luck yet but the plan is to have one of each at least by next season.
Welcome! Nice bikes!!
Welcome from a fellow Wisconsinite. I'm closer to Milwaukee but if you're ever in the area I'm usually down for a ride.
Welcome Tim, lovely pair of bikes :good2:
I always loved those 600's, very under-rated bikes, but by the time I could afford to buy one, I could afford to buy my first FJ 1200, so the 600 never did materialise.
Back in 2011, when looking for a bike for my son who had just passed his riding test, I opted for the more modern equivalent of the FJ 600 - the Yamaha FZS Fazer 600. It fitted into the marketplace just like the FJ 600 did all those years ago..... not the latest technology, but remarkably quick and competent for what it was and still able to embarrass the best of the 600 sports bikes in the right hands on a twisty road :sarcastic:
I definitely think this is the spiritual successor to your FJ 600.
Welcome Timothy, great pair of bikes. Happy to have you aboard.
