This is the first airplane that I've flown faster than my FJ has taken me. Not the first aircraft though.

Wow! At speed that thing looked like wrangling a squirrel on coke and caffeine. Fantastic video. But I am concerned about the performance of your FJ. Maybe the throttle is restricted?
My FJ is stock. Back when I went 155 indicated, it was totally stock. I believe the speedo is about 10% optimistic, so I probably was going about 140.
That was in a dive. Level top speeds are probably pretty similar between the FJ and the airplane.

Is your airframe rated for aerobatics?

Yes. My new chute comes in a month. I did my training in a Pitts years ago.
Nice ride, looks fun!
This is my daily.

Nice! Clearly you are a person of taste, no wonder you ended up with an FJ.
I think there are more than a few pilots on the forum here. I find that of the forums I'm on, lots of Australians on the FJ forum and the Sonex forums.

I still consider myself a pilot, even though the ones I fly don't have wings (PPL(H)) :sarcastic: - as I already had the FJ (and my Aprilia RSV 1000), the Schweizer was my "mid-life crisis", according to my wife :sarcastic:
I had to hire the 206 to do my type rating and fly it for fun.
At upwards of $600 an hour (even at todays exchange rates) it wasn't as much "fun" as I thought it would be :sarcastic::sarcastic:

Helicopters are the most fun flying there is. But, if your metric is fun per unit dollar/pound/euro/whatever they generally come out on the bottom of the ranking.
The Enstrom I learned to fly in used to be $120/hour back in 1990 or so. The PA12 I also learned to fly in was $30/hour. And then there are gliders, which can be at the top of the fun/unit money metric.
I have $30K into my airplane. I drive a $500 car and my motorcycles were both bought in the 1980s. Right now my direct costs are about $30/hour at today's prices. A rental C140 or J3 is something like $130/hour at my airport today.

I'd love to fly helos. I need a little expendable income first.
I got my seaplane rating in a PA12... Most fun I've had flying by far.

You guys and your airplanes. I've been close to 180 mph on my race bike though it's hard to say. Who looks at the speedo under those conditions (The back straight at Rd Atlanta). My new way to spend the kids inheritance ......
Vne test this morning.
