Title: FJ1200 Engine 3D cad file
Post by: OzDamo on January 08, 2022, 08:10:11 AM
Hi All

I'm surprised I cant find a 3D cad file of an FJ1200 engine on the internet.

Does anyone have one they wouldn't mind sharing or have a link to one.

cheers

I'm assuming from your question that those exist for a lot of engines?  LSx, Hayabusa, Coyote, 2JZ, RB26, etc?  Never even thought about it!

You might be able to find plans or dimensions maybe for Legends or thunder roadsters and be able to back out the needed dimensions from them?  Thinking you are going to have to make measurements - especially for the mounts - and model them yourself.

I think Fran with his double engine build essentially built by eyeball off a bar napkin sketch?  He might be able to give you some dimensions though - his username is freakhousecustoms or some variation of that.  Look in the Projects section for the FJ2400 Bonneville build thread

Not a lot of folks coming up with new applications for FJ engines!

Thanks FJ1289

I assumed with so many in legend cars someone would of created one.

I can do one myself fairly easily from a dimensional aspect, but to create a nice looking one visually is way more work.

I've got one here I can measure.

I'll probably just take some photos and scale them into my cad software.

No real need for them in the race cars. They are spec cars so the mount and everything else has to be the same and come from the same supplier.
