Another dry and sunny day dawned this morning, so I took the chance to head out at short notice, with some friends and their "Adventure" bikes.
The weather forecast for the next couple of weeks is just rain, rain and more rain from tomorrow :negative:
We did actually stay on surfaced roads the whole way, but the amount of dirt and manure spread across some of them by the farmers moving equipment and hauling manure/silage around, was monumental and made me feel like I was riding "off-road" for some of the time...........with the result that my carefully cleaned bike (after my previous local ride) is now absolutely FILTHY.
But, never mind, great fun was had by all, with the guys commenting that I was "knocking on" a bit today - they obviously noticed I was enjoying myself :sarcastic:
We did just under 100 miles, with a coffee stop at Leicester Aero Club to escape the winter chill and a bit of time spent watching the trainee helicopter pilots performing manoeuvres, from the warmth of their cafe "viewing room".
Roll on 4th Feb, when my hip surgery is done, then I can get back to full strength and maybe even get some track day riding done on the old girl - it's been 3 years since I was on track (on my Aprilia) and I'm really missing it !!.
A couple of gratuitous photo's - one of "the Adventure Boys" and one with me :sarcastic:, at the airfield.
