Title: Gear Sack Rack Parts
Post by: fjdave on March 06, 2009, 05:06:24 PM
Hi,
I have put this in here as the bits I want are made by an Aussie company.
I have a Gearsack rack but no metal bits to attach it to bike. My bike is a 1985 FJ1100 and if some one has this rack attached to their bike would they be so kind as to take some
pictures of all the mounting points and metal struts. I think the red/white FJ1200 might have the same setup. Please email pics to dave@lakesreach.com to save server space on this board.
TIA
Dave

Hi Dave,

I have a gear sack rack on my 88, don't use it as such but have a top box mounted on it.

Do you still want photo's of the mounting points?  It is mounted in 4 places, each of the rear indicator mounts has been extended for the rear two and the front mounts are bolted under the rear ( long ) plastics.

Your a lifesaver mate! I would love the photos please. I gathered that the indicators might need adjusting. I came across a pic on the Net but it was hard to see how the front points mounted and what bits i needed to buy. There is a fella on ebay sells the metal bendy bits but he doesnt know the sizes. I need to see how the front and back mounting points connect and a rough idea of the length in order to order them. Please email pics to dave@lakesreach.com and thank you once again.
