Title: Daytona 2021
Post by: racerrad8 on September 12, 2021, 12:08:21 AM
Well, it's official, we will be racing at Daytona international speedway next weekend, Sept 17-19.

I left Oakdale today at about 2:30 and gave made to to Needles, can by 9:30.

The plan is to be on Daytona on Thursday to get set up. The boys fly in on Thursday morning.

If anyone wants to call me out and let and watch let me know. I can probably get you down into the middle of the track.

That is AWESOME.... :good2: :drinks: :good:

Not sure what your plans are for your return. I am leaving Wichita, KS around noon on the 22nd headed East. My route is flexible. If you plan to be rolling through the mid section of the country, I could try and meet you someplace for a bite to eat and a coffee.

Looks like I-70 through Colorado is a No-Go.

I-70 going through Colorado is a goat trail on a good day.

I-70 is open through Glenwood Canyon, one lane heading east.
I was on it yesterday.

We're traveling on I-40 and have stopped in OKC for dinner. A little way, but there was an accident and they freeway signs said expect delays...

I was planning on hitting Amarillo and heading down to Florida that way, but hurricane Nicholas is hitting land and flooding is expected, so I wanted to stay out of that mess.

We hit the Grand Canyon yesterday as well.

Should be Memphis tonight and then down to Daytona.

It is really nice filling up the truck at 2.99 a gallon and being under 100.00...

You sure don't see that decal at home...

Great racing! I think Ryan would have won the thunder road class if that mash up of cars hadn't of happened just before the finish line when he was in the lead.

Yep, he had a hell of a run. If he had been banged up by the Porsche and bmw he likely would have won.

If t he fuel pump didn't shit out in my car we would have handily won. Those boys weren't pushing us at all in the draft. They were dragging their brakes and sacrificing their race to let their buddies win. We dealt with the same BS all weekend but We decided if they ain't gonna push us we will push them. The top 3 had an 8 second lead at one point and Ryan pushed the back markers up and got himself a second. "The winner got DQ'd" so Ryan pulled a p2

The only reason Ryan got banged around by the Porsche and BMW is because the roadsters came flying into a lagging group of slow cars clogging up the track just before the finish line . The roadster that came in first slipped through the hole on the inside that Ryan made in all the chaos.

At least that's what it looked like to me.

Yeah, I was teasing. From what I saw at Sonoma, Ryan is scary fast.

I know I've heard you and Randy going back and forth. It's the first time I've seen Ryan race and I was impressed.
