Sorry for the lack of an intro.
I was looking at purchasing an 85 fj1100 this evenning. It needs a couple things, and we would've struck a deal, BUT. It had a 4 in to 1 system on it. The slip on portion looks great, but the headers are a mess. They have been crushed pretty good and one pipe has a hole.
Where can I possibly find a set? It appears nothing is being made in north america that is also not expensive... I can buy an entire stainless dual exhaust system for my trans am for less money.
All of my internet sleuthing is coming up empty.
No worries mate. All years will fit. And some swanky after market bits can be had as well. I have the full system from RPM, see banner above. Super light and the SST polishes up to a nice shine. I have a few crushed pipes and a few not crushed, as well off my 86. Maybe you get the parts you need on a budget if you can find enough pieces... The 86/95 pipes are SST and polish up to a shine. Or you could Ceracoat them.
You have many options....As Mark said, you can
1) go back to stock...look on FleaBay for the SS header tubes and collector box
2) visit RPM and see when they have their systems back in stock, or
3) https://delkevic.com/complete-systems/yamaha/1985-models/fj1100-1984-1985/
Thanks fellas... I ended up passing on this bike. I found an 86 1200, with half the kilometers, in factory condition pretty much, and paid $2,000... Less than I would have spent getting the 85 up to snuff.
Problem is, it's 3 provinces away and I couldn't go take a look due to the virus... So, all I have to go on is pictures and an over the phone session with the seller. He lost his riding buddy and wanted the bike to go to a place where it would be loved and kept in this type of condition... I should have it delivered in 2 weeks or so.
Good to hear the 86 has SS pipes, I'm a polishing fiend so I'll have em shined right up.
I'll do a proper intro once I have the bike home.
