Looking at different schematics available . I should be looking to check power from the relay to switch . Problem I am having is locating the relay because I have conflicting info from schematics I have found , looking for a three terminal turn signal relay ? But I am having trouble finding it and any help on this would be appreciated.
It's been a long while since I've been into a stock FJ harness, but if I remember correctly - the signal relay (flasher) is behind the fairing on the right side and has more than 3 pins.
One of the fuses is labeled signals as I recall.
My 89 would blow that Signal fuse due to a short in the rear brake switch wiring - unplugged the switch temporarily to get it working normally. Ended up rewriting the entire bike so never found the root cause.
Thank you ! Yes there are schematics showing more then 3 terminals as well . I will take a look . Again Thank you

Correction "91 FJ"
Do you have a Owners Manual for your '91 showing the wiring diagram and the color codes for the wires?

I find the wiring diagram in the Yamaha Owners Manual to be more accurate than the aftermarket Haynes or Clymer manuals.
The flasher relay on the 92/93's I've worked on was under the main fairing on the right side.
Sounds similar to a problem I had recently with my 1100. Twice in two weeks it blew a light fuse. Not only did the did the flashers not work but also the horn, brake lights and tach failed. I found a loose pin in a green plug, (near the infamous red plug). I sorted it and the problem has not recurred - so far. (Did a 200klm ride yesterday).
Thank you Pat ! I finally have diagram that matches my FJ . I did find the Flasher on right side of the Headlight
There was butt connector on the feed wire for the turn signal switch . I cut it off and found my voltage drop
Installed a sealable connector and now have turn signals. Thanks everyone for your input.
