Title: Fitted my mufflers today
Post by: jono on August 27, 2020, 02:34:48 AM
I've finally got my engine running so now I can start building my bike. Today I fitted my new mufflers in part thanks to Delkevic Australia  for selling me two stainless link pipes to connect the mufflers to the original stainless collector they fit really well and tighten down well giving me a full stainless exhaust system

I settled on Delkevic as the exhaust I want when I get around to it. Six years later I am still not "around to it." Meh, life.

Question about your grip ends. I had mine polished to a satin finish on the bare metal. Then by turns I tried leaving them bare and buffing frequently, or clear coated, but the oxidation kept creeping in there. How are you keeping them with the metallic finish instead of black paint?

hey Charlie
the video is a bit deceiving the whole bike is cosmetically as i bought it which was a combination of matt black paint over most of the bike with surface rust. The bar ends are unpainted at the moment I just sanded the surface rust to ready for paint .
Now ive got the motor right next is the brakes then fit the plastics,
then paint. I'm going to paint the brake, clutch lever assemblies and triple clamps black and ill bring the bar ends in with the same paint
If I was going to go for a metal finish on the bar ends I would look at some kind of plating

Saw a complete system for sale at Old Gold Motorcycles in Sydney's west yesterday.
