Title: ....How to post a video
Post by: Brook on August 05, 2020, 07:10:30 PM
....I found an (old) twenty six minute, Saturday night run (on my FJ) on a cd.  It works fine on my computer.....but is it not

on youtube, can I still post it here??    If so, how do I do it?  I have it in ....Open Media... I can copy it, but when I try to

paste it here. Nothing happens      Question: Can a cd be fixed, where it cannot be shared with other websites??

This cd, was given to me.

Brook,

Some forum software will only allow certain video formats.  First, what format is your clip using?  If it is now in some oddball format, you can get format converters (ordinary movie making software) that will take one video format and 'Save As" or Export the video in some other format you may choose.

Do you have access to on-line servers, where you can upload the video?  If so, put the video on that server, and simply post the link here.  YouTube is one place like that, but there are others (Vimeo, et c.) out there.  My ISP gives me a boatload of free server space, for no extra charge (beyond the regular monthly charges that I pay anyway).  I can post the links anywhere, maybe with a suggestion about the best Viewer needed to watch it.  The advantage here is control; I can put up what I want, and take it down when I want.  It's fine with me if I just care to email one link to one guy, and delete the video from my ISP server once my friend has seen it.  HTH.

I've just recently found out that it's really easy to save video files on your Google Drive (if you sign up for a Google identity/account (free) and the copy the link to the file and paste it in your post - I did it here for the first time and it seems to work OK. It also means you can copy or delete the file remotely if you ever want to  and you can make the video available either to anyone who has the link, or you can select who can see it.
