I have recently bought an 85 FJ1100. It has been sitting since 05 and is in very nice condition with 32000 KMs. on it. This is bike number 5 for me. I bought it to use as my touring bike. I have a 2016 Triumph Thruxton 900, a Suzi GS1100 which I got to use as my touer but will likely be replaced by this one. I am restoring a GT750 and have finished a 64 Honda Super Hawk. I have been mainly restoring Kawasaki Triples but they are getting hard to find and extremely expensive.
I am having a proble getting the FJ going but will include that elsewhere. I am in Penetanguishene Ontario Canada.
Greetings to all.
Dave
Welcome to the fold. Others might disagree but the '85 is the true sport bike of the series...the others are just knockoffs.

Fixed it for ya.... but an '85 is first knockoff at least... :drinks:

Frank, I don't think a color change counts as a knock-off.
Welcome to the forum. :hi:
The 1985 FJ1100 was my introduction to these wonderful motorcycles.

Welcome Dave.
Welcome. A fair number of Ontario FJ owners on here. We're scattered all over, but occasionally have meet ups for day or weekend rides.
Since you're an experienced restorer you'll probably find the FJ almost as simple as those Kawi triples...
Welcome in Dave - they're a great bunch on here, I'm sure you'll find all the help you need.
We visit Ontario regularly, but as our family are up in Brockville, it's a long way from you guys down near Toronto, so I doubt we'd ever make it there, unless we did another Niagara visit.
Welcome Dave!
