With the great weather we're having I took the chance again yesterday to get in a ride out with my pal Jim on his Spyder, down into the Cotswolds, along some of my favourite roads, and back along the Fosse Way (Roman Road).
110 nice and easy miles....with not too much time waiting for the trike :sarcastic: Loving the FJ all over again !!!!

Yes, it's very easy to fall in love with the FJ all over again, in fact I do it every time I ride it!
A great day seems to have been had by you both. To those of us unfamiliar with the roads, it appears from the map to be a tour of terribly British sounding place names.
Does you friend ride a trike by choice or necessity?

Oh yes Noel.....the most British of British-sounding place name - Chipping Campden, Bourton-on-the-water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-the Marsh....... it's a beautiful area, especially for the quintessential stone built thatched roof cottages - and a myriad of lovely tea-shops, pubs and stately homes.
Jim rides the trike partly out of necessity and partly out of choice. Necessity because he's "not very tall" and has particularly short legs, partly out of choice because he doesn't like riding cruisers that he can actually get his feet on the ground on and partly out of choice because the Spyder is rare and he likes to be a bit "different".
The front wheels/tyre's are larger diam and double the width of standard (we had to put a much taller profile rear tyre on so that the circumference ratio front to rear was within tolerance so it didn't upset the ABS system), so it looks less "weedy" on the road :sarcastic:

We used to have a customer so short we had to chop the seat out just so he could reach the gear/brake controls, he would then do as the bloke in the video does. He was so slick at it. He rode a 900 road bike which at the time was a "big" bike. I don't recall him ever falling off it.

That reminds me of an FZR rider from the 80s. Same deal as the vid, unmodded bike, way taller than would be comfortable getting on and off, but man could he ride.
