Getting ready to start prep for paint. I've decided my 89 is going to get the stock paint job. Toyed with custom paint, but the ol' J has had some many hack paint jobs it just feels right to strip it down and put it back to the way it was born.
Here's the seller (and decals) in question:

That's quite a price savings over other kits on the market (300+ range when all said and done). A lot of that is probably due to the fact that the stripes are not in the kit. I could care less about that, I'll just pain the stripes on.
I asked him if they were accurate reproductions and he sent me this:
Quotethe sizes for these decals was given to me by a customer, and they are - FJ's 185 x 70mm, FJ1200 200 x 43mm, small FJ1200 145 x 30mm, Large Yamaha 200 x 43mm, Medium Yamaha 155 x 38mm, small Yamaha 110 x 25mm. I can make each decals to your exact sizing specs if needed just let me know the length and height in mm's and I will match it. It can be difficult to match colors exactly but I use a mid red for the red on these decals. I also use Avery Cast vinyl which can be clear coated if needed.
I'm not worried if the red is "off" a little bit. This isn't a concourse restoration, I just want it to look nice and close to the OEM look. I can just match the stripe paint color to the decals and as long as it's not right out in left feild, only the most rabid FJ enthusiast is going to notice a shift in shades.
So, Anyone try this guy out yet? How were the results if you have?
The decal kit that you have the ebay link to is only for the numbers and letter.... no stripes. :pardon:
I would suggest this graphics set.

I know theres no stripes, I mentioned that I'd be painting them on. I also mentioned that it was 300 plus for the full kit, which is what you linked to.
I'm asking if anyone has used this guys stuff before, not if theres something better out there for more money.
