Title: Stripped Thread on Brake Caliper Mount
Post by: Sparky84 on April 19, 2020, 07:48:04 PM
Well it's not the bolt but the hole the mounting bolt goes into on the front brake caliper!

Can I use a heli coil or a time sert to repair the thread or get another caliper as it is a critical part.

I definitely don't want to try a nut, there just isn't space.

Cheers
Alan

G'day Al, use a Helicoil mate, you'll find that the thread will not strip out again. I did the rear caliper on my FJ about 3 years ago and have not and will not have the same problem again.
  Regards Pete.  :good2:

Yes, either one will work just fine. I use both but prefer the TimeSert.
