I need a speedometer assemble for my 91 3xw and I have found a motorcycle wrecker that has a couple of older model units he hasnt told me what models yet but i asked him and he will check there model type when he can {our whole country is locked down for a month with this virus thing). But when i went to check model compatibility on partzilla i couldnt open there website.
Would anyone know what year /model, speedo assembly would fit mine, it was an abs model but it is all disconnected and removed .The wrecker thinks the older units plug straight in

Jono,
According to these guys, 1986-1993 are all the same, there. Your wrecker may be correct. If you just want to know how fast you are going, Amazon (and others) sell a GPS speedometer that you can read in sunlight for ~US$28 and up. I use one, because it is more precise and easier to read than the OEM unit. Many here (including me) have had success with fixing a howling speedometer by letting a quality lube soak into the gadget, at the cable inlet, while inverted on the bench. That trick, plus a new cable (which is available and cheap), did the job for me. See if what you have is one of these:

Where are you located?

that is what the wrecker said and that's a good link similar to partzilla .Im in new Zealand there are a few wrecked bikes here but all the good stuffs pretty much gone .The speedo on mine is past help the guy i got the bike from reckoned the mileage started going backwards and then the speedo stopped working. the bike had a left hand down crash and broke the fairings etc ill get one from the wrecker and if it dosn't work ill go to an after market one as you can see it was a bit of a mess when I got it
wrong photo thats the one i want this is the one ive got
I do know that a Gauge Cluster from a 1994-2004 XJ900-Diversion will also work (That's what I have on my 1990 currently)
I used a 2002 model. If you find one from the UK it will be in "Miles"
The wire harness is different than the FJ harness, but is easily swapped over from the FJ cluster. Just a bunch of little screws attach it to the back.

The 1988-1996 instrument assemblies are interchangeable. Make sure there is a CLOCK in the fuel gauge. You have a FJ1100 instrument assembly pictured here.... overall, the two assemblies look similar, but they are different and the FJ1100 will not fit the outer black shroud properly.
Fred
Thanks for that Fred
the fist photo I posted was from the web of what I thought I needed this is a pic of the one im goig to buy from the wreckers
