ECTA (East Coast Timing Association) is putting on a two day invitational event at Spaceport America in NM.
Sounds like the ECTA is making efforts to "standardize" pavement land speed racing similar to the SCTA at Bonneville, El Mirage, etc.
Link is live, but racing hasn't started yet.

This is also a 1.5 mile event. If Shane Stubbs is there with his turbo Hayabusa there may be some BIG speeds (saw him go 248 at Colorado - no fairings!)
Jim Cole is another to watch. He runs a blue turbo Hayabusa. I've watched his program progress from low 220's to high 240's at the Colorado Mile.
Jim is working with the ECTA to try to get a mile event back in Colorado. I'm also working with Jim to try to get enough motorcycle entrants interested in running the 1/2 mile Pikes Peak Airstrip Attack event so we can get motorcycles included in that event too.
