Title: fitted my new mufflers today
Post by: jono on February 16, 2020, 01:26:37 AM
I fitted the new mufflers to day they look good I hope they sound  alright. There italian stainless mega's, ive removeed all the restrictions that iI could see' there made for a moto guzzi 1300 so with no restriction I hope my 1200 should run sweet with out any rejetting as the previous owner severely chopped the original cans as you can see in the photo of the bike when i first got it. So far i've remounted the carbs with new o rings  and sealed the airbox properly ive read a few comments on line about the air box being hard to mount but i owned a fz 750 genesis years ago and i think my 1991 fj is really good to work on ive measured my shims and am in the process of ordering new ones yamaha new zealand can supply them but only in increments of 5 and I see rpm have shims in smaller sizes so once ive done my shims ill fire her up see how she goes ,then ill do the  brakes and then cosmetics as you can see i havent got any air scoops for head cooling so im thinking of modifying the fairing ive got and fitting cooling ducts inside fairing along the lines of the xjr 1300 but my fist job at the moment is to get the moto guzzi wording of the mufflers
