Title: Helmet chin strap failures
Post by: PaulG on December 26, 2019, 09:49:17 PM
Got this article in an email from one of my brothers.   More of a heads up issue, rather than any immediate danger.... I think  :scratch_one-s_head:

How old is this article Paul?

I can see October 2016 in the fake book.

This isn't good, I'll be checking mine before next outing..

Thanks

Those brackets were amazingly corroded.I checked my twelve year old HJC helmet and the brackets look perfect. They are made of steel they don't look zinc plated.Ive definetly sweated heavily on inumerous occasions.I wonder if it occurs in areas with high humidity?

I checked the table of contents and it looks like this "issue" was just published Dec 24, 2019. I used quotes as I don't see any earlier articles, so maybe this is a new emag for offroaders.
