Title: Anyone nearby to assist
Post by: racerrad8 on October 24, 2019, 01:11:47 PM
My nephew has been involved in collision in wamsutter,  Wyoming last night.

He is okay,  but the truck is totaled and the Two family dogs got spooked and are now lost.

I'm not exactly sure what he needs at this point, but he is without a car until his brother can get to him in a couple of days.

His concern now is the dogs as they are not outside dogs and is snowing there.

If you can help,  please let me know.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Just saw this.
Sorry to hear about your Nephew.
I'm about 5 hours away, but I wouldn't be able to get up there until Sunday  (My wife is teaching a class on Saturday, so I have to be home with the boys)
Hopefully his Brother will be there to assist before that.

Thanks Alan, there still is not a plan.

Unfortunately, he just called and said the oldest dog was located after being hit by a car and killed.

He is still looking for the second dog.

Randy,

Sorry to hear about the problems your nephew is having.  Typically, several times a year there's an accident involving people and dogs from out of the area.  Our local humane society has a dog rescue group for situations like this.

Per google, Red Desert Humane is the closest to Wamsutter.  I don't know their travel area, but here's their Facebook link

Carey,  thank you very much. I passed it on to him.

Up until now,  I have only been getting my info from my wife while I was at work.  Once I got home,  I got more info.

He hit black ice and lost control causing the crash. He was knocked unconscious as a result.  As fire and ems arrived obscene,  they were able to administer first aid.

While they were working on him and getting him out of the truck,  another motorist hit the black ice and crashed into the fire engine working on my nephew.

He assures me he is banged and bruised,  but okay otherwise. The plan still is not clear as his primary objective is too hopefully find the second dog alivehe wants to give it several days and keep searching.

So,  I don't know for sure,  but I expect him to be there through the weekend in the hope.

They have Emergency Medical Strippers in Wyoming? I'm impressed.

Some good news today. The second dog was found scared,  cold and hungry today.

The younger brother should be there this evening to get his brother back home.

Thanks for everyones thoughts and prayers.

Rossi,  I've been told... What happens in Wamsutter stays in Wamsutter...

Terrible situation all around Randy. Sorry the older pup is no longer around, things just happen in an instant sometimes which we have no control over.
