Title: Fuel injection controller required
Post by: Sparky84 on October 09, 2019, 09:08:35 PM
Not for the FJ, sorry, but while you're here.

Looking at purchasing a ZG1300 fuel injected model but apparently it doesn't have the computer for the fuel injection and it's hard to locate one.
So can an aftermarket one be fitted? Need to know this before the purchase.
I did have a 79 Z1300 back in the day, actually the FJ replaced it in 85

Cheers
Alan

If you have the FI hardware, you are about halfway to a Microsquirt.  Probably would work better than the old stuff.

Well I believe all the Fuel injection is there except the controller.
So Microsquirt could make One to suit without having original controller?

That'd be good, thanks

Microsquirt is a blank slate - they make a generic controller, and give you the means to program it.

Got an email back from Microsquirt dealer who said it would work and also gave me some more info which was good.
Now just have to win the bidding on bike

If you go the Microsquirt route let me know.   I can help with the learning curve.  Do you know if the same controller also controlled the ignition?  Or was ignition handled by a separate box?
