Newbie here.
Thx for letting me join.
Just bought a '87 Fj 1200 which was one of my dream bikes since they were new.
This is the first bike I've bought that may be as fun to ride as the RZ 350 I bought new in '85.
My Fj, like most, Has been neglected and abused for the last part of it's life.
Mechanically I think its sound but now I'm working on cosmetics and have the front fender in pieces with what looks to be the normal broken tabs.
What do you guys suggest? Are there new replacements, after market, etc?
Thx again for letting me play.
Gary
If you Google "how to repair chin fairing fjowners.com" it will bring up a thread that has a lot of information
Excellent.
Thx T Legg.
I searched front fenders on the forum before posting this thread.
All I see is about repairing cracked tabs.
All of mine are broken and front fender needs replaced unless I choose to glass it back together.
That's a bunch of labor though and I'd rather buy a replacement.
Good luck finding one.
There is one or two after market options, but not many!
I use auto body shop epoxy panel adhesive. ZOA NOM recommend Plastix or Plastex or something like that. Apparently it can be used to mold parts that are missing. Usually the broken tabs are still held on by the bolts in my experiences.
