Title: Fj12 3cv (stuff)
Post by: mike g on August 05, 2019, 06:11:29 AM
Took my old bus out for a good trash with my Sunday morning breakfast run mates (normally use s1000rr) and was really impressed how well it went (haven't used one as a sports bike for 20 years - but my first one 1988-1997 got a right good thrashing) (company; 1198, R1, GSXR1000 and fazer). But it was a timely reminder I need to give the front brakes an overhaul (r1 blue spots) and the front forks could do with some attention when hard on the brakes - I'm struggling to remember what oil I used last time, but I was thinking maybe 15w and a smaller air gap, any advice? might look at stiffer springs, as the suspension adjusters are maxed out all round. The rear end behaved itself well despite having a 15 year old tyre which has been an MOT advisory for several years (new one just arrived) - I've also got some jack up dogbones that have been sitting around for a couple of years must get round to fitting before I need new boots!

On another note, I think I might have a porous barrel as there is an internal oil way up the stud and I can't trace any other source of the slight oil mist I'm getting in that area- anyone had this problem?

Even with taxes & transport, that still looks like a half decent deal for a UK buyer  :good2:
