Hello riders, it's been a long time since I posted, so I thought I'd share my afternoon with you.
Sad to say, but if I don't make it to a rally, my seat time on the FJ is very minimal.
I have recently tapped into a limited amount of 100LL fuel to use in my bikes, but first I needed to burn out the remaining fuel, so off I rode.
The day was partly cloudy with noticeable winds, low 70s, just not too bad for getting back on two wheels.
Nearing the end of my 75 mile round trip I was out on a two lane black top meeting a group of three cars widely separated, when I noticed that the white minivan coming at me turned his high beams on for me and presented me with the middle finger salute.
I though, oh crap, my high beam is on, but it wasn't, so my thoughts turned to a conversation I had with Randy R a few years ago at a rally about the possibility that running an HID bulb would be too much for on coming traffic. I can't remember his words exactly, but it was more or less, at least they will see you instead of claiming to have never seen you in the first place.
I'm currently using an HID bulb and while - yellow switchback LED signal bulbs in the front location.
There it is, I was noticed! Funny that I met dozens of drivers this afternoon and it only took one to respond.
Ride well, and ride safe, my friends!

I think it meant that you're number one!

I remember coming back to the Petaluma KOA from dinner and Monkey Mark was following me with his HID set up...
Holy crap...I think he bubbled the paint on the back of my Arai. I could see my shadow in front of me.
My Name is Nobody! One of my favorite movies!
Jack Beauregard:
You shine like the door of a whorehouse. A blind man could spot you ten miles off.
Nobody:
I like folks to see me.
Jack Beauregard:
Maybe folks don't share your pleasure.
