Title: 92 Paint Match
Post by: woodcreekpete on May 05, 2019, 02:01:48 PM
Hi:
Just sprayed some dark violet paint that I got matched for the 92. Looks to be very close to the original. Paint manufacturer is Matrix and their number is:MB-LV-53995. Dark Violet Metallic. This came from a Canadian supplier but I would think it's a shared catalog with the US. I used a medium gray primer. Picture fades the new paint in from the left lower corner. Kinda hard to see but to me, it looks pretty decent. Cost me $34 Cdn a spray bomb though.  Hope this helps somebody else out.

Turns out that paint looks a little different in sunshine as compared to the fluorescents in the shack. A bit too purple. Okay on the fender because of the separation but on a scoop, the difference was pretty obvious.
    Back to the drawing board.

Ahh yes. Can see the front mudguard difference. On its own it looks great, and thats the hard thing with this  Dark Violet shade of paint, sometimes it looks blue, sometimes when the sun hits the metalfleck its violet, cant win.
