Title: Carb tubes
Post by: Scottie1 on April 21, 2019, 04:42:47 PM
On my carbs I have 2 tubes in the end of no1 and 4 running down to the subframe. Should there be tubes in the other 2 carbs.I also see two white tees without and tubes on them. Do all the tubes need to be connected before I start riding daily.

There should be a total of 6 hoses/tubes hanging off the bottom of the carb assembly.

2 large hoses connected to Tees between the 1/2 and 3/4 carb pairs.  These are the float bowl vent/overflow hoses

Each carb should also have a small tube connected to a port right at the float bowl gasket joint level.  These hoses provide bleed air into the carb choke circuit.  Technically, you can get by with no hoses, but if the carbs overflow or the choke circuit leaks then you run the risk of catching the leaking gasoline on fire as it drips onto the hot engine.

All 6 hoses should be long enough to route to the right side of the motor, around the carb heat shield and down behind the case.  You should see a wire loop on the case that the hoses are intended tp run through.  Make sure none of them are kinked.
