Title: Timing plate modification, does this re-assembly look right?
Post by: aigram on April 12, 2019, 05:49:20 PM
I have a healthy amount of fear when it comes to sensitive mechanical areas. With that, this dowel rod is maybe 50% engaged onto the timing plate. See attached picture.
Am I doing this right?
Related, the service manual shows the cable for the pickup coil passing in front of the pickup base, but when looking at some pictures on the forum, and on Google Images, it seems to be routed behind the pickup base. Which way is correct?

The dowel is there simply to make sure the plate is located in the correct orientation. It is held firmly in place by the bolt screwed in to the end of the shaft. There shouldn't be any pressure on the dowel in use.

Thank you! Just wanted to be sure. I've got it back together now and it seems happy.
