it connects to a T... and into 2 hoses, where do they go and how important is it to connect it
bike runs fine, i forgot about them, will pull the tank later, but not now
I think that is a vent for emissions. Not sure if it can be plugged or if it needs to remain as a vent.
My '84 was a Calif model with the charcoal canister tank vent system.
There were vent ports on #1 and #4 carbs that were a part of this system.
Be sure the unused ports on those 2 carbs are plugged. Follow the hoses, you'll see where they are...
The vacuum ports on the intake manifolds are different. Again, these ports I'm referring to were on the carbs.
i did see, canisters, i suppose it's a California model, i live in CA, do i can plug the vent on the tank and delete the cans if i was on a desmog misson?
i think last i saw was all vacume ports on intakes were capped, except #1 for the fuel petcock
i will just leave them, so it's not like it's some vacuum leak right now? so you are saying the fumes travel from the carbs to the tank and not the other way?
maybe that hose coming from the tank can be plugged with no ill effect? it's not leaking nothing at the moment and runs/rides fine
Met FJ Monkey today and during the valve "job" we yanked the canisters, hoses and it cleared up the front real good and roomy now with better airflow looks like
