it's been a while since I posted. I've been looking online and came across db electrical starters. I was surprised the item arrived quickly. Its a replacement for the stock 2 brush fj1100 starter. It's a 4 brush unit. Spins a lot stronger than the stock. Starting is a lot easier now. I'll post ypdates on the durability of the starter (http://fjowners.com/gallery/11/1156_10_02_19_10_40_21.jpeg)

Be cautious of those starters. DB was one of my suppliers when this occurred. I had a couple of them come back with the worst one leaving Ben stuck on the side of the road.

After Ben sent it back to me I performed an autopsy to see what happened. I was shocked by what I found inside. I have never sold another aftermarket starter since then.

If you want to be sure, you might pop yours apart and see if it looks like those photos inside.
